Margot and Tony Wendice seem to the outside to be a perfectly poised couple. With a beautiful London flat and a loving relationship, nothing could be better for the pair. However, Tony secretly plans to have Margot killed for her inheritance. When Tony discovers Margot’s affair with his good friend, thriller writer Maxine Halliday, he finds the perfect opportunity to strike, blackmailing an old college acquaintance into murdering Margot for him. However this plan proves unsuccessful, leading to a string of cunning plans, confusion, deception and betrayal in this adaptation of the play by Frederick Knott.
